Lets Talk: Feminism and How Widely Misunderstood it is

Let me set some things straight first. If you still look at feminism negatively, forget everything you think you know about it, because it’s probably wrong. Feminism is not about burning bras, women trying to overpower men or “femnazis”, whatever those are. The dictionary definition of feminism is “the advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men” but yet and still things like street harrasment exist. It’s 2013 and still many women only make 76% percent of what their male coworkers make. Women are still objectified, sexualized and degraded in the media all the time, just take a look at “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke and the kind of message that sends. The list of things that are against women goes on and on.
